Thoughts from Nana
Nana was my Grandmother on my mother's side and one of the main reasons I'm alive today. I know that because of her prayers for me (and all her children and grandchildren) over the years made a huge difference in my life as the protection of the Father was there for me many times in my sinful life. When I was a young boy, she gave me a bible and on the first and last couple of pages of this little bible, she wrote several thoughts down.I found that bible the other day and was moved greatly again by those thoughts. I'm sure that most all of these originate from various people and teachings but, in my mind, they are all from Nana. I've copied all of them word for word and put them below to share a little of my Nana with the world.

He who fails to pray, simply because the sun is shining will find his power to pray gone when the storm clouds arise.
Critics of the church, they are down on something they are not up on. We are not to judge men, let God be the judge.
Prayer is a key in the morning and a bolt at night.
To seek God when all is well is to have his companionship when trouble comes; The Christian life requires cultivation.
The secret of prayer is secret prayer
What I am is God's gift to me, What I become is my gift to God.
Begin with God in the morning or he will be last in your thoughts all day and it will be a day of defeat.
Praying will make one lay aside his sinning or sinning will make him lay aside his praying.
God will not condone in a Christian what he condemns in a sinner.
Any tragedy that drops us to your knees is a victory.

I am no longer my own, but thine, put me to what thou wilt, rank me with whom thou wilt. Put me to doing, put me to suffering, let me be employed for thee-or laid aside for thee, exalted for thee or brought low for thee. Let me be full-let me be empty, let me have all things, let me have nothing. I freely and heartily yield all things to thy pleasure and disposal. And not O glorious and blessed God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit- thou art mine and I am thine
