Wisdom is the principle thing. That is such a powerful statement that it needs explaining.
Go to the third epistle of John verse 2. "Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health just as your soul prospers."
Now, what does that mean and how does it relate to wisdom? It means that more than anything, it is God's will for us to prosper and be healthy. It means that we can do this in proportion to the amount that our soul
prospers. That begs the definition of "what is the soul?"
Your soul is your mind, will and emotions. Your thoughts and intellect. This brings things into light now. You want to prosper (have wealth) and be healthy? prosper your mind. In other words, GET WISDOM. I'm not talking about going to college and learning all that the schools can teach, I'm talking about Godly wisdom.
Think this doesn't work? Want some proof?
Go to 1Kings chapter 3 starting at verse 5 through 14. 5 At Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night; and God said, "Ask! What shall I give you?" 6 And Solomon said: "You have shown great mercy to Your servant David my father, because he walked before You in truth, in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with You; You have continued this great kindness for him, and You have given him a son to sit on his throne, as [it is] this day. 7 "Now, O LORD my God, You have made Your servant king instead of my father David, but I [am] a little child; I do not know [how] to go out or come in. 8 "And Your servant [is] in the midst of Your people whom You have chosen, a great people, too numerous to be numbered or counted. 9 "Therefore give to Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?" 10 The speech pleased the LORD, that Solomon had asked this thing. 11 Then God said to him: "Because you have asked this thing, and have not asked long life for yourself, nor have asked riches for yourself, nor have asked the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern justice, 12 "behold, I have done according to your words; see, I have given you a wise and understanding heart, so that there has not been anyone like you before you, nor shall any like you arise after you. 13 "And I have also given you what you have not asked: both riches and honor, so that there shall not be anyone like you among the kings all your days. 14 "So if you walk in My ways, to keep My statutes and My commandments, as your father David walked, then I will lengthen your days."
So, if God gave Solomon Riches, long life and health in addition to the understanding or wisdom, then that shows us that we can expect the same thing. Lets look at some more scripture.
Proverbs 3:13-22 13 Happy [is] the man [who] finds wisdom, And the man [who] gains understanding; 14 For her proceeds [are] better than the profits of silver, And her gain than fine gold.
15 She [is] more precious than rubies, And all the things you may desire cannot compare with her. 16 Length of days [is] in her right hand, In her left hand riches and honor. 17 Her ways [are] ways of pleasantness, And all her paths [are] peace. 18 She [is] a tree of life to those who take hold of her, And happy [are all] who retain her. 19 The LORD by wisdom founded the earth; By understanding He established the heavens; 20 By His knowledge the depths were broken up, And clouds drop down the dew. 21 My son, let them not depart from your eyes -- Keep sound wisdom and discretion; 22 So they will be life to your soul And grace to your neck.
Alright, now you should see that prosperity and health are closely tied to wisdom. How do you go about getting this wisdom?
Point your heart to the word of God. Proverbs 1:7 says The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction. The Bible is the handbook of life. There is no question that you cannot find the answer in the Word of God. I have written a page on receiving the protection of the Lord and now I'm telling you that by using the exact same principles, you can have wealth and health. Read the Word, Believe the Word, Do what the Word teaches. Walk in Love to receive a manifestation from the Lord. As you increase in wisdom, you will increase in giving and decrease in strife. If you don't walk in Love, you can't reap the benefits of using faith.
Here's something to think about. Remember in the book of James chapter 3 where we are taught to keep our tongues. Stop grumbling and complaining and talking down about others. this creates strife. Look at Isaiah 54:17. No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in
judgment thou shalt condemn. A lot of people claim that verse all the time. Now look at it another way, If someone is bad-mouthing you, they are a weapon against you. It works both ways. If you are bad-mouthing someone or grumbling about something, what does
that make you? A weapon, one that shall not prosper.
If you haven't yet, read the page on strife
and see how it can prevent you from realizing God's will for you. Remember the
top of this page? Above all prosper and be in health? All this ties together and
it all ties to wisdom. If you have the wisdom and understanding to know not to
complain all the time and if you know what that type of activity can prevent you
from receiving, then you will understand just how important your attitude really
Here's something else to think about. Go to 1 Corinthians 2:6-7
6 However, we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of
this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. 7 But we
speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden [wisdom] which God ordained
before the ages for our glory,
What is this mystery? Answer in 1 Corinthians 14:2 2 For
he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one
understands [him;] however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries. It seems
that one way to prosper your soul is to receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit
and speak in tongues. Then you are talking right to God and speaking wisdom,
mysteries that the world(including Satan) cannot interpret. What Satan does not
understand, he cannot plan against. Now, here is a revelation to all of those
people who think they are wise.
Proverbs 14:24The crown of the wise is their riches. Another
way of saying this is, the evidence of the wise is their riches.
Now, don't close your mind(soul) to this. Are you rich? Are you wise? Understand
that the number one fear of Satan is a powerful, wealthy Spirit-filled
Christian. If you don't have any money, then you spend all your time working on
your own problems. If you don't have money problems, you can concentrate on
getting the gospel of Jesus out to the masses. This one principle is so big and
is so difficult for people to get because Satan has put so much effort into
clouding judgement and society. He wants you broken down and sick. You can't
help anyone else that way. God's will is for you to prosper so you can walk in
love and help others. Think on this and pray about it.
Then start getting wisdom and understanding.
God sums it up nicely in Joshua 1:8 "This Book of the
Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and
night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For
then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good
