How is your love walk?

If you are a Christian, the word Love should take on a whole new meaning to you compared to what it meant to you before you were saved.
You see, when you gave your life to Jesus, He filled you with Himself, The Holy Spirit. Romans 5:5 tells us this..."Now hope does not disappoint, because the LOVE of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us."
1John 4:8 tells us that "He who does not love does not know God, for God is love." Verse 16 says, "And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him."
Well, we can abide in God by abiding in Love, so, let's get an understanding of what the Word is talking about when it uses the word Love. Let's go to 1 Corinthians chapter 13:4-8 and read the definition of the word Love from the Amplified Bible.
Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily.
It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God's love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong].
It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail.
Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening].
Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end].

The word Love from the original Hebrew language comes from a root word which means, "I will give". John 3:16 is example of Love. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. Ephesians 5:2 "And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma." Verse 25 of the same chapter, "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her "
This is quite a bit different definition and understanding of Love than the world knows. Every example of worldly love is involved in taking, not giving, and therefore it is not the love that the Bible is talking about when we are commanded to love one another. John 13:34-35 "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."

...When people say they love chicken for example do they really? Then why do they kill it and eat it? :)
When people get involved in relationships these days, are they doing so from a true perspective of giving love or is it selfishness? It's easy to discern, just listen to them talking for 5 minutes and you'll hear the majority talking about "what he/she means/does for me. If he/she doesn't please me or take care of me, then I guess I'll have to break up."
Remember that society is ruled by the god of this world(satan) and his whole desire is to steal, kill and destroy. Of course he'd twist the meaning of love from give to take, it's the exact opposite. Notice that all media pushes the worlds definition of love so much that when we read the real meaning of how to love, a lot of people exclaim how impossible it is to live that way, I mean, bear up under anything? pay no attention to a suffered wrong? not insist on my own way?
I tell you that if you are born again, the Love of God IS inside of you, you may not be walking in it, but, it IS there. You need to renew your mind to what Love means and fill your soul with the true meaning over and over again so that you start walking in it more. Read that section of 1Corinthians again and make a checklist for yourself, find an area that you can improve on and concentrate on it. If you have to, write the scripture down on 3x5 cards and post them in your areas of attack.
Billye Brim tells that when she was learning about the love walk, she taped a card to a pullout drawer in her desk so that when a certain person that irritated her would come into the office, she'd pull open the drawer, quickly read that scripture and remind herself of how she was supposed to act.
That is an excellent idea. If more of us walked in Love, then we'd find that fewer of life's problems affect us anymore.
Satan's root tool to get to us is fear. Fear is the opposite of faith. When we operate in fear, we operate in and are under the control of the world's system. When we operate in faith, we operate in and are under the control of Love, or God.
1 John 4:17-18 "Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.
As we continuously feed on the Word of God regarding Love, it fills our soul and pushes out fear and increases faith. Then, as we walk in Love, it activates our faith and destroys the work of the devil in other's lives and correspondingly, our own.
Make it your mandate to abide in Love. It never fails.

Here is some scripture for you to study on and learn more about the Love walk. You need to declare out loud with your mouth daily that you are an overcomer and that you have the Love of God inside you and that you will Love one another. Be aggressive about what is yours. Read these scriptures out loud every day and get them into your soul.
